NEW MARKET -- Lloyd G. Etter, 67-year-old New Market businessman, died about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville following a short illness. He had been hospitalized since Sunday. Mr. Etter had been in the automotive sales and service business for 45 years, operating L. G. Etter & Sons Ford Sales Co. here. He was born July 12, 1898, in Montgomery County, son of Lawrence D. and Amelia Rice Etter. He was married Nov. 4, 1920, to Frances Hoss, who survives. He attended school at New Market and Wabash College. While attending Wabash, he was an outstanding basketball player and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the New Market Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge at Crawfordsville. Survivors in addition to the widow include two sons, John and Bill, both of New Market; a brother, Roy, of New Market; two daughters-in-law, Ardell and Raymone, both of New Market, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Noble Reeves Funeral Home here at 2 p.m. Friday. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after noon Thursday. - kbz
